Example

For an overnight shift, such as 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, select the next-day option and the calculator will work out the correct duration.
How the Hours Calculator Works
The calculator first finds the time between the start and end times. Any break time you enter is then subtracted from the total.
For example:
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM = 8 hours
With a 60-minute break:
8 hours − 1 hour = 7 hours
The calculator also converts the result into decimal hours. For example, 7 hours 30 minutes = 7.5 hours.
What Can You Use an Hours Calculator For?
You can use it for working hours, shift schedules, timesheets, freelance work, project tracking, study time, or simply checking how many hours have passed between two times.
